Sonia:
I am 27 years old, originally from Fairfield, CA and moved to Sacramento in 2000. Since moving here I have become more aware of my life path, which is helping people in any way I can. I started my path by learning more about and using my gift as an energy worker by becoming a Reiki practitioner.
Since accepting and acknowledging my gift I have become more sensitive to the paranormal. Over the course of the last few years I have had experiences with the paranormal more often. This has added fuel to the flame I already had for knowledge on all things paranormal. My goal is to help clients through the investigation process as well as further my knowledge of the paranormal with this wonderful group of investigators.
Day Job: Accountant and Reiki Practitioner
Hobbies: Reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends
An Interview with Sonia:
1. What interested you in the paranormal?
Since I was a child, I have had paranormal experiences. Ihave always been sensitive to spirit energies. I am a very curious person. As an adult, I decided to learn as much as possible of all things paranormal.
2. How are you treated in public when people realize that you are a paranormal investigator?
Some giggle, some roll their eyes and say, "it figures you would be!". Some are intrigued,...but ALL of them have a million questions they just have to ask!
3. Have you ever had anybody react to what you do negatively?
I wouldn't consider any of the reactions negatively. I have had a few of the "I worry about you when you do this kind of stuff" talks with family members. However, by the end of the conversation they feel better knowing that we are all very conscious of protecting ourselves.
4. What do you do when you aren't investigating?
Well, besides my 8-5 job, I enjoy going out of town (especially to the beach or camping!), going to see live bands, and I love to read!
5. What investigation sticks out in your mind?
So far I would say the investigation at our home because it helped us to get to know our "other roommates" a little better!
6. Have you had any unexplained experiences?
Quite a few, but the one that stands out the most in my mind is during a class feeling the pressure of a hand on my shoulder and not having a living person close enough to touch me!
7. What skills do you bring to API?
Two of the most important skills I think we all bring is encouragement and a sense of family. In my opinion without those skills it doesn't matter what gifts you have, you can have a successful investigation but not much fun while doing it!
8. What do you want to get out of your experience with API?
I have already gained so much just meeting everyone! Since joining I know that I will be able to achieve my goal of growing more as a person and gaining more knowledge of the paranormal! That and having a great time with amazing people!
9. How does your family feel about your investigations?
They worry a lot...BUT they also know that I take many precautions in regards to protecting myself. Also, I am learning new ways and am always open to their suggestions for protection. That helps ease their minds.
10. Do you enjoy being an investigator?
I absolutely do! Every investigation that I have been on so far has taught me something and that is exactly what I had hoped for!
11. Do you have anything else to add?
Just that I look forward to all the investigations to come and all the new members in the future!
