Dowsing, or the use of divining rods to find unmarked graves and water has been in use for over 8,000
years.  To this day, one can open up the Yellow Pages and hire a dowser.  Dowsing can be done with
one or two copper rods, or a pendulum.  How and why this works is all theory.  But if we are made of
energy, and energy vibrates, then a dowser can “tune into” the vibration of the object he or she is in
search of.
What is the best technique to use when dowsing?  Well, that depends on what you are dowsing for.  If
you will be walking around in search of minerals, water, graves, or oil then keep your elbows at your side,
and hold the rods parallel to each other and perpendicular to the ground.  Take care to walk slowly
and never let your wrists tilt the rods up or down.  If you wish to contact a spirit, take a seat.  Place
both feet on the ground.  Brace your arms and elbows against your side to prevent any unwanted
movement.  Dowsing should be done at no longer than five minute intervals to allow ones hands to
rest.

Here are some basic rules for your dowsing rods (these are for pairs of copper rods):

1)        When you first get your dowsing rods you need to program them.  I choose both rods straight
ahead for neutral.  For Yes, they cross and moving away means no.  If you ask a question that a
spirit doesn’t know how to answer or doesn’t want to answer the rods will waver back and forth.

2)        Do NOT let anybody else touch or play with your dowsing rods.

3)        Your questions must be short Yes and No questions.  However, you CAN ask both rods to
point to were an object or spirit is.  Again, be specific and brief.

4)        Remember that if you are over a ley line or grave, the rods will cross and indicate a false Yes
answer.  Ley lines are simply streams of water in the earth.

5)        Lots of practice is needed to understand the answers you get.  Rods are not for everybody.  If
they do not work, try a pendulum.  Program it however you like.  Try different things if this
                interests you.
