| Death is a part of life that can cause much pain for the ones left behind. Individuals may partake in many different forms of healing practices to sooth and consul their pain practicing various religious or spiritual beliefs. One such custom that has gained popularity in modern day is the art of channeling, which is the ability of an individual to receive messages from spirits beyond that have crossed over or who are earth bound and to forward the message to the appropriate receiver. Channeling varies somewhat in definitions of the practices among different eras and cultures, but generally holds a common belief. Channeling more specifically is seen as the transmission of messages or ideas from non-human entities, spirits or soul outside the human body back to the receiving human. The medium usually remains neutral of any personal thoughts that may affect the interpreted message from beyond. It has been reported that many mediums feel the messenger’s emotions or pain; although, the medium can learn how to effectively protect and ground before a reading. If the medium uses protection techniques during the channeling session, this may deter the spirit from beyond to negatively invade the channeler’s space. There is no one definitive founder of channeling and no accounts of human documents of one particular founder of channeling; although, there have been documented reports of oracles and prophecies dating back to Greek and Roman Mythology. There have also been references to the revelations of Biblical lore and numerous reported incidents in the Bible of mediums or channeler's receiving spiritual messages from supreme beings. Channeling also became a way of spiritual communication that was widely practiced and accepted during the Renaissance period. Each channeler may experience different ways to practice and prepare to channel. Some use crystals, stones, charkas or dousing rods or use their spirit guides to encourage the communications. Other channelers rely on great preparation of meditation, clearing the mind and some may eat a very cleansing diet before a difficult case. Others rely on nothing. Each channeler is very prudent to include protection measures in each of their events. Many channelers explain the event as being used as a frequency tool compared to a switchboard and connecting with someone at the other end. It can also be associated to tuning in a radio, such as each station brings a different frequency of information that are identified by different visions, colors, charkas and tomes. Of course there are many who are skeptical of mediums, chancellors and their practices. It is a fact that there are some charlatans in the field, but many recipients have reported that channelers have been able help to heal their pain from losing a loved one. Some recipients have stated that the channeler has identified private information without any prior knowledge and history of the person who has crossed. The art of channeling seems to help and heal many people even in modern times.
