Joe's House
API LOG JANUARY 17, 2004

Dave,  Sabrina and Joe conducted an initial investigation of Joe’s house on Saturday, January 17, 2004,
from approximately 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Joe lives with his sister and parents in Orangevale. The property
(according to Joe’s sister, who came home at the end of the investigation) belonged to one of the families
who started the local area’s first unified water district. There were three main structures on the property
aside from the main house: a guest house, separate farmhands’ quarters, and a storage shed. Joe’s sister
told us the property had been farm land for over a century, although the original main house and guest
house had undergone extensive remodeling since then.

Joe’s family purchased the property in the early 1970s. The previous owners had a daughter who was hit by
a car at an intersection nearby. Joe contacted API because he had once seen the little girl at the top of the
staircase (the only staircase in the house that leads to Joe’s sister’s old bedroom and his parents’ bedroom)
and then again in the family room (downstairs near the front of the house). Joe said members of his family
had also seen a woman in the kitchen and a little boy in the guest house. 3 Cameras were set up in total, one
at the hallway at the top of the stairs, and two in the dining room/kitchen area (the oldest part of the house).

The lights and air conditioning were shut off. The two cameras in the dining room were positioned on
Sabrina as she established contact with the little girl, the woman in the kitchen, and the spirit of a male
farmhand. Dave asked the spirits questions, which Sabrina would repeat in hopes of establishing meaningful
dialogue with the entities.

About her experience Sabrina wrote:

The first thing I did was try to assure the little girl and the woman and the farmhand that all we wanted was
to prove their existence to other people. I reiterated the fact that we meant them no harm, but were curious
to find out how they got there. The woman spoke to me first. She was very polite. She said that she and
the farmhand were from similar eras, before the little girl’s time, but that they had sort of ‘adopted’ her as
their own daughter. The little girl’s energy was strong and sad, but not angry. The woman’s energy was
strong and very pleasant. The farmhand’s energy was suspicious and very strong, towards the end he
seemed to warm up the group a bit.

The girl’s name begins with a J, either Jennifer or Jessica. I didn’t get the names of the other two. I did get
the names of two of Joe’s siblings. ‘J’ has blonde hair and misses her family, that’s all. She showed herself
to Joe because she was lonely, and because she had been with him since he was a baby, so she felt closer to
him than to Joe’s other siblings. She died on a summer evening, just as the sun was about to start heading
down for the day.

A fourth spirit appeared after a while, a male this time, not liked very much by the other two adult ghosts. It
gave me the feeling that the farmhand and the woman in the kitchen wouldn’t let this fourth ghost enter the
house, although I didn’t get any clue as to why.

There were several points during the investigation when Sabrina asked the ghosts to show themselves for
the camera, with excellent results (I need to see the tape to give specifics here). Toward the end of the
investigation, Dave communicated the idea of ‘swinging’ to Sabrina through the little girl. Dave asked the
little girl to tell Sabrina a word, swinging, and Sabrina saw a picture of the little girl on a porch swing on
what she took to be a moment just a few minutes before the child’s death.

Joe’s sister mentioned that her old bedroom was another hot spot, and that she used to be able to hear
men arguing when she lay in her bed at night. She also said that she had also felt herself being smothered
with a pillow, and someone placing a gun barrel on the back of her head. The group decided to interview
Joe’s parents before conducting another investigation at Joe’s house. Joe’s sister said she’d research the
history of the property and happily pass on whatever she uncovered to API.
