What interested you in the paranormal?
Like many others in this field, I was exposed to the paranormal at a young age.  I was raised in a haunted
house and was always taught that the activity I was experiencing was something to respect, not fear.  Many
members of my family are quite sensitive, so they have always talked openly of the existence of the ghosts.

How are you treated in public when people realize that you are a paranormal
investigator?

To be honest, I was pretty shy about it at first.  I have a horrible tendency to get worked up about what
people think of me, but as I became more and more active in the field, I also became more open.  Silly me, I
actually thought people would judge me negatively – thankfully, I couldn’t have been more wrong.  Most
people are eager to share their own experiences with me or, they ask me a million questions about what I do.
I’m constantly handing out business cards to people who would like our assistance or know someone who
would probably like our help.

Have you ever had anybody react to what you do negatively?
No, never negatively.  I believe in healthy debate, and I’ve had a few of those!  I think the majority of people
believe the paranormal exists, but until they experience it for themselves, are hesitant to admit it.

What do you do when you aren't investigating?
I work in Project Management and occasionally take on promotions and marketing work on the side.  For
fun, I love to travel and go out with my friends.  My husband and I easily go on three vacations a year.
Seeing and experiencing  the world is very important to me.

What investigation sticks out in your mind?
We recently went on an investigation near Monterey.  It was memorable for a number of reasons.  Most
notably, the family we assisted was so incredibly wonderful.  They were a little skeptical at first, but things
had been going on for so long in that house, they finally called us in.  The investigation proved to not only
fruitful evidence and experience wise – but it was part of a healing process for this family.  It was nice to be a
part of that and reminded me why we do this.
The trip was also memorable because it was a fun filled weekend with my extended API family.  We were put
in some interesting situations that weekend, but we laughed and smiled the entire time.

Have you had any unexplained experiences?
I have had many, especially growing up.  One of the most notable was a dinner party when I was a child.  My
parents were hosting and we were all seated around our dining room table chatting away.  My mother
brought up the subject of ghosts and was sharing the fact that our house was haunted.  One of our guests
scoffed at this idea and insisted there was no such thing as ghosts.  At that instant, a picture flew off the
wall and crashed to the ground, as though it had been thrown with force.  Our non- believing guest certainly
had nothing to say after that!

What skills do you bring to API?
Investigation wise, I’m a healthy skeptic.  For the most part, I can discern between paranormal
activity and things that might have non-paranormal causes.  I also have a background in event
coordinating and promotions that has been very helpful in further networking API with other
groups and individuals all over the country.

What do you want to get out of your experience with API?
I already feel like paranormal research is the most important thing I will contribute to in my lifetime.  So really,
I would like to go to sleep at night knowing that through API, I’ve done a little something to help people
gain understanding of this sometimes controversial field.

How does your family feel about your investigations?
My family is incredibly supportive.  My sisters are my best friends and they get to sit there when I talk and
talk and talk about all of the exciting things I get to do with API.  My husband has also been a trooper.
He has never been one to have much interest in the paranormal, but suddenly he is asking a lot of questions
and has even come out on a couple of investigations to do some debunking work!

Do you enjoy being an investigator?
I absolutely love it, I can’t imagine anything else being as “right” for me!
